Abstract

The term refers to wireless communication techniques, specifically the method of operating user equipment, user devices, and immutable media readable by a computer. In one respect, the UE determines whether to perform a power headroom report (PIIR) for the pathloss reference signal (PL-RS). Based on the determination, the UE performs the PHR function or one or more transmission loss measurements for the PL-RS based on the determination. In some respects, the determination is based on the type of PL-RS or the type of cell attached to the PL-RS. In other respects, the determination is based on the indicator (e.g., explicit or implicit indicator) attached to the PL-RS received from the UE's service cell.
