Abstract

The invention relates to a method, machine and apparatus for transmitting information relating to beamforming for the location of user equipment in a wireless broadband system. Frequency-dependent variations in the beamforming of transmitted RF signals can be provided to the receiving equipment. Beamforming information may include, for example, beam gain and various azimuth and elevation directions, antenna axis direction and main lobe width (and optionally side lobes) of the beam, information relating to the antenna elements of the antenna array used to transmit the beam, and / or similar information.
