Abstract

The invention relates to a steel wire for the purpose of reinforcing rubber. The steel wire has a structure comprising an outer layer and an inner layer surrounded by and adjacent to the outer layer, the inner layer consisting of at least one steel wire of number Ni and average diameter di expressed in mms, the outer layer consisting of steel wires of number Ni and average diameter di expressed in mm, the inner layer consisting of one wire of number T] and the outer layer consisting of one wire of number Ti, the relationship between Ti and Ti being determined. In this way, the problem of the rubber layer protruding due to the steel wires is reduced.
