The solution includes: An electronic device activates the video recording function; after the user's video recording activity is detected, if slow-motion activation is detected, then the candidate image frames are displayed on the frame selection interface, where the candidate image frames include frames from the images; the start and end frames are set by the user based on the candidate image frames; and create a target video, in which the target video includes a slow-motion video extract, this slow-motion video extract corresponds to the start and end frames, and the video recording frame rate of the slow-motion video extract is higher than the encoded frame rate of the slow-motion video extract.
