Abstract

The invention's proposed implementation options suggest methods for upgrading operating systems, electronic devices, and storage media. The method applied to electronic devices includes the following steps: obtaining the first upgrade installation package, which includes the first upgrade file; storing the first upgrade file in the user data partition; restarting the electronic device and data in the base partition and the second static partition; loading data from a different sub-partition than the first sub-partition into the dynamic partition and the first upgrade file; and merge the first-level attribute file into the first sub-partition of the dynamic partition. This method also includes the steps of synchronizing data in the first static partition with the second static partition. According to the implementation options of the invention, independent upgrades can be performed on a custom sub-partition in the dynamic partition to upgrade the custom operating system.
