Abstract
The methods described are for distributing bit rates in voice and immersive audio services. According to one approach, the IVAS bit-synchronization method includes the following steps: receiving the input audio signal; reducing the input audio signal level into one or more downscale channels and spatial metadata; reading a set of one or more bit rates for the downscale channels and a set of quantization levels for the spatial metadata from the bit rate distribution control table; determining the combination of one or more bit rates for the downscale channels; Determine the metadata quantization level from a set of metadata quantization levels using a bit rate distribution process; quantify and encode spatial metadata using metadata quantization levels; generate, by using a combination of one or more bit rates, downscaled bit streams for one or more downscaled channels; combine downscaled bit streams, quantized and encoded spatial metadata, and sets of quantization levels into an IVAS bit stream. In addition, the patent also mentions methods and systems for encoding and decoding bitstreams of voice and audio services, and means of making them unreadable by computers.
