Safe intravenous catheter kit

Abstract

The invention refers to a catheter assembly comprising a catheter unit, a body element, a tubular drawbar element, a needle base, and a safety device fixed to the distal end of the tubular drawbar element and detachably connected to the body element. The body element includes an annular groove, and the safety device includes locking components. When the needle is withdrawn from the catheter assembly after venous puncture, the body part is detached by removing the locking elements from the annular ring, thus separating the safety device from the body part after the forceps have been retained in the safety device. The locking elements are solid spherical elements made of stainless steel.
