USER DEVICES, METHODS AND EQUIPMENT FOR PASSIVE POSITIONING AND PROVIDING POSITIONING SUPPORT DATA

Abstract

This invention proposes techniques for passively locating user equipment (UE) with auxiliary link support. The example method for passive locating includes receiving the first reference positioning signal from the first station at time 1, receiving the second reference positioning signal from the second station at time 2, receiving support positioning data associated with the reference positioning signal received by the nearest user equipment, determining the time difference of the reference signal based at least in part on time 1 and time 2, and determining the current position based at least in part on the time difference of the reference signal and support positioning data. The invention also relates to a method for providing support positioning data, and a device for passively locating and providing support positioning data.
