Abstract

The aim of the invention is to propose a method for the efficient production of heparosan by improving the heparosan-producing capacity of bacteria of the genus Escherichia that are capable of producing heparosan. The invention relates to bacteria of the genus Escherichia that have a gene modification that increases the expression of the kpsS gene and are capable of producing heparosan; and a method for producing heparosan using bacteria.
