METHODS FOR ENCODING AND DECODING CHILDREN'S VIDEO PHOTOS AND VIDEOS

Abstract

The systems and methods described in this invention utilize a high-level syntax to support the extraction and repositioning of sub-images. Input video can be encoded into multiple representations, each representation being represented as a layer. The layered image can be divided into sub-images. Each sub-image can have its own cell region, resolution, color format, and bit depth. Each sub-image is encoded independently of other sub-images within the same layer, but inter-image prediction can be made from corresponding sub-images from its dependent layers. Each sub-image can reference a set of sub-image parameters, where sub-image attributes such as resolution and coordinates are indicated. Each set of sub-image parameters can reference a PPS, where the resolution of the entire image is indicated.
