Abstract

The term refers to the methods, systems, and means by which a computer reads and transmits data. Data can be transmitted from a sending device to a receiving device via an activated or selected byte position or other data bit group of the data bus. The sending device can determine the data value to be sent over the data bus and can determine which byte positions are activated or selected and which are not selected. The sending device can also determine the code. This code can be a value not present in the data value to be sent over the data bus. The sending device can then send the selected data value at the selected byte position of the data bus and send the code at the unselected byte position of the data bus. The sending device can also send the code to the receiving device separately from the data bit sequence of the data bus.
