Abstract
The invention relates to a process for converting a hydrocarbon feedstock containing at least 20 ppmw, 100 ppmw, or 500 ppmw and less than 1000 ppmw, 5000 ppmw, or 10000 ppmw of halides into a hydrocarbon product stream by hydrogenation, in the presence of a catalytic active feedstock in the hydrogenation process and a quantity of hydrogen, in which the hydrocarbon product stream includes a quantity of 1 / 1 halide, in which this hydrocarbon product stream is combined with a quantity of wash water, in which the mass ratio of wash water to water of the hydrocarbon product stream is greater than 1:10, 1:15, or 1:2 and less than 1:1, 2:1, or 10:1, and in which the combined hydrocarbon product stream and wash water are separated in a non-polar stream of product The hydrocarbon product stream and the polar stream of wash water containing ionic halides are such that 50%, 90%, or 99% to 100% of these ionic halides are transferred from this hydrocarbon product stream to the polar stream of wash water containing ionic halides. The difference lies in the fact that this polar stream of wastewater containing ionized halide is fed to a concentrating device, creating a stream of purified water and brine with a concentration of ionized bauldenide greater than 2 times, 5 times, or 10 times, and less than 50 times or 100 times, of the polar concentration of the wastewater containing ionized halide. This offers the benefit that the process can obtain hydrocarbon mixtures with high halide content, purify them into quality hydrocarbon products, while reducing water consumption.
