Abstract
This invention proposes a procedure for the synthesis of alpha-hydroxy esters by adding the vinyl Grignard reagent to the oxalate ester and reacting the resulting double bond. The invention also proposes that alpha-hydroxy esters and synthetic intermediates be synthesized according to the procedure described in this invention, and that the resulting preparations include alpha-hydroxy esters.
