AIR FILTER LAYOUT FOR THE ENGINE

Abstract

The invention relates to a construction for an air filter assembly for an engine mounted on a motorcycle with a frame, front wheel assembly, rear wheel assembly, and engine. The air filter assembly consists of an air filter housing, an intake manifold, a filter element, an airbox, a connecting pipe, and at least one manifold. The air filter housing is mounted fixed on the frame. The intake manifold includes an inlet and an outlet, the outlet being connected to the air filter housing, and the inlet connected to the external environment. The filter element is mounted inside the air filter housing. The airbox is mounted fixed on the frame. The connecting pipe has two ends connected to the air filter housing and the airbox respectively. At least one manifold has two ends connected to the airbox and to at least one engine inlet.Therefore, the air filter design for the engine can, on the one hand, optimize the intake efficiency of the vehicle's engine; and on the other hand, optimize filtration efficiency without negatively affecting the size of the engine oil and the wheelbase between the front and rear wheels, thus maintaining better handling for the vehicle.
