PROCEDURE FOR PREPARING THE EPIGALLOCATECHIN GALLAT NANO EMULSION SYSTEM

Abstract

The proposed utility solution outlines a process for preparing epigallocatechin gallate nano-emulsions, essentially comprising the following steps: i) preparation of epigallocatechin gallate; ii) preparation of the surfactant mixture; iii) preparation of a solution containing tilidoic acid; iv) sequentially adding lecithin and the surfactant mixture from step ii) to the epigallocatechin gallate; v) slowly adding the mixture from step iv) to the solution from step iii); and vi) ultrasonic homogenization of the mixture obtained in step v) to obtain the epigallocatechin gallate nano-emulsion system, under the conditions described in detail in the description. The process outlined in the utility solution allows for the creation of epigallocatechin gallate nano-emulsions with small, stable particle sizes, thereby increasing bioavailability. Furthermore, the light-sensitive properties of epigallocatechin gallate are enhanced by the presence of α-lipoic acid, thereby minimizing degradation and improving the effects of the active ingredient.
