Abstract
The invention relates to a process for producing microbial organic fertilizer from macadamia nut shells (Macadamia integrifolia) including the following steps: using macadamia nut shells after removing the green husks, approximately 3-10 mm in size; pre-treating with mild alkali using agricultural lime; mixing with well-rotted manure and rice husks, sawdust, or a mixture thereof; adding a starter microbial solution containing organic-decomposing microorganisms; aerobic composting in a pile with periodic turning; maturation of the compost pile; adding functional microbial preparations after the compost pile has matured and the temperature of the compost pile has dropped below 40°C; stabilization, screening, and packaging of the product. The functional microbial preparations include nitrogen-fixing, phosphorus-dissolving, and potassium-dissolving microorganisms. The process helps utilize macadamia by-products, improve decomposition efficiency, and maintain the activity of beneficial microorganisms in the product.
