Wheelchairs

Abstract

This design is for wheelchairs for disabled persons substantially as illustrated in the accompanying drawings. The wheelchair is mechanically adjustable, comprising tubular wheeled support frame and chair arrangement operatively attached and displaceable relative to each other. The chair arrangement comprises displaceable planar seat and backrest portions, which define a seating zone therebetween. A pair of planar opposing mechanically displaceable torso support members project into the seating zone to engage a torso of a user in the seating zone, in use. A table assembly is attached to the chair arrangement and is mechanically displaceable between a first condition wherein the table is usable by a user in the seating zone, and a second condition wherein the table is displaced to permit access to the seating zone. A leg support is operatively attached to the support frame, wherein the leg support is displaceable relative to the support frame.
