Claims

1. An isolated antibody capable of binding to lymphocyte activation gene 3 (LAG-3), characterized in that it comprises: (a) according to the Chothia definition, a heavy chain variable region (HV) comprising an amino acid sequence VHCDR1 of SEQ ID NO: 4, an amino acid sequence VHCDR2 of SEQ ID NO: 5, and an amino acid sequence VHCDR3 of SEQ ID NO: 3; and a light chain variable region (LV) comprising an amino acid sequence VLCDR1 of SEQ ID NO: 13, an amino acid sequence VLCDR2 of SEQ ID NO: 14, and an amino acid sequence VLCDR3 of SEQ ID NO: 15; (b) according to the Kabat definition, an HV comprising an amino acid sequence VHCDR1 of SEQ ID NO: 1; an amino acid sequence VHCDR2 of SEQ ID NO: 2; and a VHCDR3 amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3;and a VL comprising a VLCDR1 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 10, a VLCDR2 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 11, and a VLCDR3 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 12; (c) according to the Chothia definition and the HCDR1 definition corresponding to the combination of the Kabat and Chothia definitions, a VH comprising a VHCDR1 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 286, a VHCDR2 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 5, and a VHCDR3 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 3; and a VL comprising a VLCDR1 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 13, a VLCDR2 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 14, and a VLCDR3 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 15; or (d) according to the Kabat definition and the HCDR1 definition corresponding to the combination of the Kabat and Chothia definitions, a VH comprising a VHCDR1 amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 286; a VHCDR2 amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2;and a VHCDR3 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 3; and a VL comprising a VLCDR1 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 10, a VLCDR2 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 11, and a VLCDR3 amino acid sequence from SEQ ID NO: 12; where GRANTED the VH comprising at least one, two, three or four framework regions (FW) comprising the amino acid sequence of any of the SEQ ID NOs: 187, 190, 194, 196, 198, 202, 206, 208, 210, 212, 217, 219, or 221, or having no more than two amino acid substitutions, insertions or deletions when compared to any of the SEQ ID NOs: 187, 190, 194, 196, 198, 202, 206, 208, 210, 212, 217, 219, or 221;and / or the VL comprises at least one, two, three, or four framework (FW) regions comprising the amino acid sequence of any of the SEQ ID NOs: 226, 230, 232, 234, 236, 238, 240, 244, 246, 248, 252, 255, 259, 261, 265, 267, 269, or 271, or having no more than two amino acid substitutions, insertions, or deletions when compared to any of the SEQ ID NOs: 226, 230, 232, 234, 236, 238, 240, 244, 246, 248, 252, 255, 259, 261, 265, 267, 269, or 271. 16 Claims follow;
