Claims

The invention discloses a pharmaceutical composition (a gel) for diabetic ulcers. The gel comprises fusidic acid, a biopolymer in the form of chitosan, and a peptide in the form of hydrolyzed collagen. Specifically, the gel comprises an antibacterial agent, fusidic acid, a biopolymer, chitosan, and a natural type I collagen peptide. The composition is highly effective from a therapeutic standpoint due to the unique and desirable physical, chemical, and therapeutic properties of the collagen embedded in a chitosan gel structure with fusidic acid. The composition is stable despite the incorporation of chitosan and hydrolyzed collagen in a fusidic acid process with a very small particle size. The composition contains 0.1% (w / w) to 5% (w / w) of sodium fusidate and chitosan with a molecular weight in the range of 250,000 Da to 500 Da.000 Da in the weight ratio of 1.25% (w / w), and hydrolyzed collagen with a molecular weight in the range of 3000 Da to 6000 Da in the weight ratio of 0.2% (w / w).
