MODIFIED OXYNTHOMODULIN AND METHODS OF USE OF THIS

Claims

Novel modified oxyntomodulin (OXM) complexes. The application further provides new methods for treating diseases or conditions, such as metabolic syndrome, diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease, for example, through the use of the novel modified OXM complexes.

1. A modified oxyntomodulin (“OXM”) characterized in that it has the structure of formula (II): VZ (II) wherein: V represents a binding complex; and Z represents native OXM, an OXM analogue or an active fragment thereof.

56. A composition characterized in that it comprises a mixture of two polypeptides, a first polypeptide comprising the modified OXM of any of claims 1-55 and a second polypeptide comprising any of claims 1-55.

61. A pharmaceutical composition characterized in that it comprises the compound of any one of claims 1-55, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, stereoisomer, solvate or hydrate thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
