Claims
The present invention relates to a portable performance monitoring method for equestrian sports, specifically designed to collect and analyze real-time physiological and movement metrics of horses, integrating geolocation and wireless connectivity technologies. This method significantly improves athletic performance, facilitates strategic decision-making, and contributes to animal welfare by providing automated and efficient monitoring tailored to the needs of equestrian sports. The method is based on the interaction between a Player Wearable Device (PWD) (1) and Horse Heart Rate Sensors (HHS) (2), which include an Optical Sensor (3) per horse and an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) (4), which measures movement using an Accelerometer (5), Gyroscope (6), and Magnetometer (7). The PWD (1) synchronizes the data via a Bluetooth Module (BM) (8) and a GPS Receiver (9), storing the information in its Memory (10).The data is processed in real time, and immediate reports (12) can be generated. These reports are displayed on an optional screen (11) or transferred to mobile devices (13) or computers (14) for further analysis, improving decision-making and the well-being of each horse used by a single rider through automated synchronization between the DPJ (1) and the SCC (2). Furthermore, the method allows for the addition of an optical sensor (3) to the rider and the placement of the DPJ (1) in the saddle, freeing the rider from the device. The DPJ (1) is worn on a breastplate, ensuring comfort and stability, and enhances horse well-being through synchronization with the SCC (2).
