The chemical and petroleum industry waste encapsulator is a compound of mineral rock extracted from our own quarries. Its composition includes: quartz (33%), calcite (Ca, Mg) (30%), phyllosilicates (clay minerals + mica) (18%), plagioclase (16%), and alkali feldspar (1%). Lime (CaO), cement, and zeolite are added, and when mixed with petroleum sludge and water, it forms a stable, solid material that encapsulates hydrocarbons, chemical waste, heavy metals, and toxic gases in a rock-like form. Its use requires an encapsulation machine with separate compartments for each component and sensor-equipped valves that allow for the precise pouring of the components. With this in mind, the process stages are as follows: It's worth mentioning again that the equipment has three hoppers, a built-in conveyor belt, a computer system that controls the process, control and information sensors, a screw conveyor for mixing, and a pouring sleeve. First - Component Placement: Water is placed in the first hopper, drilling mud and / or cuttings or the chemical waste to be encapsulated is added to the second hopper, while the mineral rock with a particle size of 200 microns is placed in the third hopper, along with lime, cement, and zeolite. The machine has a programmed pouring system for each hopper. A sensor is located in the opening and closing valves of each hopper, which sends information to the computer responsible for controlling the flow in each compartment, in order to maintain the correct proportions for the mixture.Second - Material Transport: The byproduct is poured onto a conveyor belt that carries it to the third stage of the process. Third - Mixing: The mixer is a screw conveyor that receives the components from the conveyor belt. The drilling mud, when mixed with the mineral compound and water, forms a solid material that permanently and stably encapsulates the toxic components discarded by the oil industry. This waste can then be used as raw materials in other industries. Fourth - Disposal and / or Stockpiling: The solids are dumped. The resulting byproduct is a stable, inert, non-toxic rock that prevents contamination of soil, water, and the environment in general. Fifth: The material is stockpiled for future use. This byproduct is also a material that can be used for soil improvement, enhancing drainage and soil properties, in the agricultural industry, the construction industry, road works, among others.
