Claims
The methods and compositions utilize a sand obtained by combining dirty sand with a chemical additive. This combination decreases the water drainage time through the sand compared to sand without the chemical additive. The reduced water drainage time decreases the amount of time required to dry the sand after washing and, when the sand is used as a proppant, promotes fluid conductivity through the sand when it is placed in a fracture in an underground formation.
