Claims

The present invention relates to compositions and methods for modifying in a plant or plant part one or more genes encoding transcription factors of the APETALA2 / ETHYLENE RESPONSE FACTOR (AP2 / ERF) family. The invention further relates to plants and / or plant parts produced by applying the methods and compositions of the invention and having one or more improved performance traits, optionally comprising increased root length, reduced root width, an increased shoot-to-root area ratio, improved stability, and / or increased planting density.
