Claims
This disclosure relates to the field of palatability. In particular, this disclosure relates to a palatable pet food composition that includes approximately 11% to approximately 50%, by weight, of fat, wherein approximately 1.5% to approximately 90%, by weight, of said fat content is butterfat.
1. A palatable food composition for a pet animal comprising from approximately 11% to approximately 50%, by weight, of fat, wherein the fat content comprises from approximately 1.5% to approximately 90%, by weight, of butterfat.
25. A method for improving the palatability of a pet food composition, which includes from approximately 11% to approximately 50% by weight of fat, said method including a step of incorporating from approximately 1.5% to approximately 90%, by weight of the fat content, of butterfat in the preparation of the food composition.
28. A method for manufacturing a dry food composition that is palatable to a pet animal, wherein said method includes a step of applying at least one coating layer that includes fat, wherein the fat content includes from approximately 1.5% to approximately 90%, by weight of the fat content, of butterfat.
