Claims

The Intelligent Irrigation System for Annual and Biennial Crops integrates doped hydrogel microcapsules with attached microelectrodes that act as sensors and actuators. These microcapsules are placed next to the seed in the root zone, retaining water and releasing it in a controlled manner upon receiving electrical pulses. The Central Controller, powered by solar panels, generates low-frequency pulses via induced electric field communication and monitors in real time the variation in the electrical resistance of the microelectrodes, which adjusts according to the soil moisture level. With this mechanism, the system automatically determines when and where to activate water release, dynamically adapting to crop conditions.
