It is a vessel, similar to a paddlewheel catamaran, comprising elongated side floats joined by a main structure on which the control, propulsion, and drive systems are mounted. It features a collection basket located forward at the bow, designed to collect and discharge floating material into an adjacent storage trough. This storage trough is designed to discharge the collected material by tilting it laterally. The storage trough is divided into two halves along a substantially central transverse axis. One half is designed to discharge the collected material by tilting it to port, while the other is designed to discharge it by tilting it to starboard. Each of the semi-trays is mounted, in a rotatable position, on bushings located on respective stringers of the overall structure. The collection basket (5) is mounted on a structure that is operated by a hydraulic cylinder (21) for its movement and tilting rotation. It includes a boom comprising three articulated sections, which has at its distal end a clamshell-type collector designed to collect floating or submerged debris and discharge it into the tray.
