The present invention relates to the field of compositions for cleaning hard surfaces, and in particular to a solid block composition for toilets that lasts longer in use. It provides improved and long-lasting cleaning and hygienic benefits. There is a need for an improved solid block composition for toilets. The present invention provides a composition having a combination of a selected silane and a quaternary ammonium compound, in the presence of an anionic surfactant comprising at least one alkyl benzenesulfonate and a non-ionic surfactant, providing a block composition for toilets. The composition is obtained by an extrusion process. It provides superior cleaning and increased hydrophobicity to a hard surface. It reduces water retention and / or dirt deposition on the surface, thus delaying the need for frequent cleaning.
