Claims
Methods and software applications for transmitting high-resolution spectral curve data to a dye generator to generate a usable dye formula for custom-tinting a basecoat or coating to match the color of a detected surface. The high-resolution spectral curve data is derived from low-resolution or broadband spectral data obtained via a low-resolution or broadband spectrophotometer. Additional user information, order information, or location information can be transmitted to the dye generator.
