Claims

The present invention relates to a rotating device (1) for a vehicle seat. This rotating device (1) includes a stator (3a, 3b, 11) intended to be fixed to the vehicle floor, a rotor (5) rotatable with respect to the stator and intended to be fixed to the vehicle seat frame, and a locking mechanism (21, 23, 25) for selectively permitting or preventing rotation of the rotor with respect to the stator. The rotor can be locked with respect to the stator in a plurality of discrete locking positions, corresponding to selectable positions of the vehicle seat with respect to the vehicle floor.For smooth and comfortable operation, the tilting device is provided with resistance means (31, 31a, 31b) arranged in the vicinity of these locking positions, so that the resistance to rotation of the rotor with respect to the stator is significantly increased and the user receives feedback that a selectable position of the vehicle seat with respect to the vehicle floor is being reached.
