Methods and systems for managing well operation are disclosed. The method may include obtaining distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) data based on a measurement made using a DAS sensing element placed in the well. The DAS data may be processed to identify whether any part of the DAS sensing element became acoustically coupled to a well structure during the measurement, thereby introducing at least one artifact into the DAS data. If at least one part of the DAS sensing element became coupled in this way, a remediation process may be implemented to manage the impacts of at least one artifact on the subsequent use of the DAS data.
