Claims

The invention provides a method for treating MMP9-related diseases, including but not limited to FOP and rheumatoid arthritis, using a low-dose minocycline regimen. The method comprises administering minocycline at a daily dose of 1–50 mg, preferably 5–40 mg, and more preferably 25–35 mg, for long-term treatment while minimizing known adverse effects. Furthermore, the invention contemplates pharmaceutical compositions containing minocycline in sustained-release formulations suitable for chronic administration.
