EQUIPMENT FOR TREATING LITHIUM SOLUTIONS

Claims

This disclosure provides equipment for treating lithium solutions comprising an ion-exchange resin having a loading configuration with a feed inlet and a raffinate outlet; an elution configuration with an eluate inlet and an eluate outlet; a non-lithium monovalent form in the loading configuration; and a lithium-ion form in the elution configuration; wherein the equipment is configured to receive a feed stream comprising lithium ions and anions added to the resin through the feed inlet; wherein the equipment is configured to discharge a raffinate stream comprising non-Li monovalent cations from the ion-exchange resin and anions from the feed stream, from the resin through the raffinate outlet;wherein the equipment is configured to receive an eluent stream, comprising cations (other than Li) and monovalent anions, added to the resin through the eluent inlet; and wherein the equipment is configured to provide an eluate stream comprising lithium ions from the resin and anions from the eluent stream, eluted from the resin through the eluate outlet.
