Abstract

The invention relates to a device (1-1b) for protecting a plant from browsing and rubbing and for use as a growth aid, comprising a protective cage (3-3b; 26) open on two opposite sides (4-4b; 5-5b), which is designed to surround a plant to be protected in a circumferential direction (2-2b) of the plant. Advantageously, the protective cage (3-3b; 26) comprises several side panels (6-6b; 7-7b; 8-8b; 27; 28) which can be connected to each other to form the protective cage (3-3b; 26). The protective cage ensures that a plant to be protected receives sufficient light and that adequate ventilation is ensured. This is achieved in particular by the fact that the protective cage is not placed directly against the plant, for example by wrapping it, but is arranged at a distance from the plant and preferably completely surrounds it in a circumferential direction.
