Abstract

The invention relates to an elongated lighting support rail system (1) comprising a support profile rail (2) extending elongatedly along a longitudinal axis (X) and defining a connection space (A), an electrical connection element (3) provided in the connection space (A), a cover element (4), and an end cap (5). The end cap (5) is designed to cover an end face opening (21) of the support profile rail (2) that is axial with respect to the longitudinal axis (X) in a cover position.The end cap (5) has an extension section (8) that defines an extension space (V), which in the cover position only axially extends an insertion-opening-side receiving space (R) of the connection space (A) and is radially open to the outside, so that when the cover element (4) is coupled to the support profile rail (2), an axially projecting part of a section (46) of the cover element (4) can project radially into the extension space (V).
