System for hybrid inventory management and visual localization of bottles using augmented reality

Abstract

The invention relates to a system for managing wine inventories using augmented reality. It combines physical clips on the bottle necks with app-based recognition. The clips have a planar front surface with high-contrast numbering to minimize optical distortion. An app first loads the searched numbers into local memory and then uses local OCR technology to identify these numbers in the live camera image. Searched bottles are color-coded on the display (augmented reality), enabling a quick visual search even without an active internet connection in the storage area.
