FOLDING DEVICE

Abstract

Folding device (201) for folding the ends of a packaging material (202) that extend beyond opposite sides of a pulp bale (203). The folding device comprises a first displacement device (204) configured to displace the pulp bale in a first longitudinal direction (R11) to a first folding area (205), the side faces (203c) of the pulp bale being perpendicular to the first longitudinal direction, and at least one fixed first folding plate (206a, 206b) arranged on each side face of the first folding area. The fixed folding plates are spaced apart from each other at a distance adapted to the bale width. Each folding plate defines a folding area that is substantially perpendicular to the folding area and substantially parallel to the first longitudinal direction.The first displacement device is further configured to displace the pulp bale in one direction (R12) opposite to the first longitudinal direction away from the first folding surface (205).
