Abstract

The invention relates to a magnetic gripper (1) for gripping ferromagnetic components (2), wherein a first piston (9) is provided which is displaceable in a first cavity section (5) of a cavity (4) of a housing (3) between a first end position (E1) and a second end position (E2), wherein a second piston (11) is provided between the first piston (9) and a housing wall (7) having a workpiece contact surface (8), which is movable relative to the first piston (9) between a first relative end position (RE1) and a second relative end position (RE2), wherein a holding magnet (15) for gripping the component (2) is arranged on the second piston (11), wherein a first working chamber (16) is formed in the cavity (4) on a side of the first piston (9) facing away from the second piston (11),which is connected to a first compressed air connection (17) and a second working chamber (18) is formed between the second piston (11) and the housing wall (7), which is connected to a second compressed air connection (19), wherein the magnetic gripper (1) is operable in a first operating state (B1) in which the holding magnet (15) is spaced at a first distance (L1) from the housing wall (7), in a second operating state (B2) in which the holding magnet (15) is spaced at a second distance (L2 < L1) from the housing wall (7) that is smaller relative to the first distance (L1), and in a third operating state (B3) in which the holding magnet (15) is spaced at a third distance (L2 < L3 < L1) from the housing wall (7) that lies between the first distance (L1) and the second distance (L2).
