Abstract

The invention relates to a device and a method for detecting road users for a single-track vehicle (1) with a housing (2) that can be attached to the vehicle (1) and which includes an image acquisition unit (3) and a distance detection unit (6). To enable accurate distance detection to an overtaking vehicle while maintaining a simple design and assembly, it is proposed that the optical axis (4) of the image acquisition unit (3) be aligned in the direction of travel (5) and the sensor axis (7) of the distance detection unit (6) be aligned transversely to the direction of travel (5) within the housing (2).
