Abstract

The invention relates to a method for machining a rotating component, wherein a surface (4) of the rotating component is machined by means of at least one electron beam emitter (3), wherein the rotating component and the at least one electron beam emitter (3) are mounted so as to be movable relative to each other and the at least one electron beam emitter (3) is arranged at a distance from the rotating component, wherein a relative movement is initiated between the rotating component and the at least one electron beam emitter (3), wherein heat energy is introduced into the rotating component by means of an electron beam beam (8) emitted by the at least one electron beam emitter (3), and wherein the rotating component is scanned at a circumference by means of the electron beam beam (8).It is proposed that at least a first electron beam (11) and a second electron beam (12) of the electron beam (8) have different beam powers. This allows the surface properties of the rotating component to be precisely adjusted.
