Abstract

The invention relates to a power supply device for vehicles, in particular for motor vehicles or for rail vehicles, which is designed for the transmission of electrical current between an infrastructure and a vehicle and for supplying the vehicle with electrical current, comprising at least one first contact device (1), wherein the at least first contact device (1) can be brought into electrical contact with a first counter-contact device (8) in an operating state of the vehicle to form an electrical connection and can be separated from the first counter-contact device (8) to separate the electrical connection, wherein the at least first contact device (1) is designed as a current collector component for the vehicle or as a component for a current collector docking device.It is proposed that the power supply device has at least one first cooling device (5) which is oriented such that the at least first contact device (1) can be supplied with a cooling fluid flow from the at least first cooling device (5). This prevents excessive heating of the power supply device.
