Drum pulper and methods for modifying a drum pulper

Abstract

A drum pulper (1) for separating recyclable fibers from waste comprises an elongated drum (14) having a conveying direction (F). The drum (14) has an inlet zone (3) and a sorting section (50) in the conveying direction (F), the sorting section being provided with at least one trough (7) for receiving a solution. The sorting section (50) has nozzles (12) for spraying water onto the waste inside the drum (14). The trough (7) has a first reservoir (7a) and a second reservoir (7b) arranged successively in the conveying direction (F) of the drum pulper (1). The drum pulper (1) has a line (9) for supplying a solution from the second reservoir (7b) to the inlet zone (3). A method for reconfiguration is also disclosed.
