Abstract

The subject matter of this invention is a method for separating waste steam (4), in particular for separating waste steam (4) from pulp production plants, wherein the waste steam (4) is fed to a wet scrubber (1) and condensed. According to the invention, the waste steam (4) is fed to a carrier gas stream (5) and then, together with the carrier gas stream (5), is directed into the wet scrubber (1), in which the waste steam (4) is condensed with the aid of supplied water (14). The wet scrubber (1) has at least one gas distribution device (6) through which the carrier gas stream (5) is passed and in which the waste steam (4) is condensed, wherein the gas distribution device (6) is constructed from at least one bar or tube grate (7) or from a perforated sheet. The subject matter of this invention also includes an apparatus for carrying out the method.
