A fastening device (1) for fixing a profile bar (11) to a substrate comprises at least a clamping unit (3) with a first clamping jaw (4) and a second clamping jaw (5) which are displaceable relative to each other along a common axis (21) and can be clamped against each other, and a support element (2) which can be fixed to the substrate and to which the clamping unit (3) can be fixed.
