Method and particle counter device for determining a particle count

Abstract

To improve the measurement accuracy of particle counter devices, a particle counter device (1) is provided with a flow path (SP) that runs through a charger (2) for charging particles (P) contained in a gas (G), further from the charger (2) to a first electrometer (4-1) for generating measurement signals to describe particles (P) flowing through the first electrometer (4-1), further from the charger (2) to an electrostatic precipitator (3) for separating particles (P) flowing through the electrostatic precipitator (3), and finally from the electrostatic precipitator (3) to a second electrometer (4-2) for generating measurement signals to describe particles (P) flowing through the second electrometer (4-2).
