Abstract

Method and communication network for transmitting media streams and / or voice communication between several terminal devices (1a, 1b, ...) by means of a service (2) are in data communication connection with each other, wherein the service mediates the transmission of the media streams between the terminal devices, wherein a media stream, for example a voice message, is generated in at least one of the terminal devices as the sending terminal device and is transmitted during or immediately after generation to at least one other of the terminal devices as the receiving terminal device, in particular to all other terminal devices by means of the service, and wherein - the operating system on at least one of the receiving terminal devices puts the communication application into a sleep state according to predefined criteria, wherein in the sleep state the reception of data streams by the receiving terminal device (1b) is blocked by the communication application,and - a registration service (3) associated with the service is in a data communication connection with at least one receiving terminal, wherein the registration service registers whether the communication application running on the receiving terminal has been put into a sleep state or is in a sleep state.
