Abstract This invention relates to a system and a method for real-time actor identification in television, streaming, and digital media using facial recognition, comprising: an image capture module configured to extract frames from a video display; a preprocessing module that applies noise reduction, contrast enhancement, and facial region isolation; a facial feature extraction module utilising convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to generate vector embeddings; a database matching module configured to compare extracted facial features against a structured actor database; a user interface module configured to display actor details, filmographies, and related metadata via smart TV overlays, mobile applications, and voice command responses; wherein the system operates independently of metadata tagging and enables real-time actor identification across multiple platforms.
