Claims
1. A variant adeno-associated virus (AAV) capsid polypeptide which comprises:(i) the amino acid sequence of any one of SEQ ID NOs: 134, 62, 68, 59-61, 63-67, 69133, 135-169, or 194-414; or(ii) an amino acid sequence comprising at least 4, 5, or 6 contiguous amino acids from any one of SEQ ID NOs: 134, 62, 68, 59-61, 63-67, 69-133, 135-169, or 194-414.
2. The variant AAV capsid polypeptide of claim 1, which comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 134.
3. The variant AAV capsid polypeptide of claim 1, which comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 62.
4. The variant AAV capsid polypeptide of any one of claims 1-3, wherein the amino acid sequence is present in loop VIII of the variant AAV capsid polypeptide.
5. The variant AAV capsid polypeptide of any one of claims 1-3, wherein the amino acid sequence is present immediately subsequent to a position selected from 586-592 of the variant AAV capsid polypeptide.
6. The variant AAV capsid polypeptide of any one of claims 1-5, which further comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, or an amino acid sequence at least 95% identical thereto.
7. The variant AAV capsid polypeptide of any one of claims 1-5, which further comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3, or an amino acid sequence at least 95% identical thereto.
8. An adeno-associated virus (AAV) particle comprising the variant AAV capsid polypeptide of any one of claims 1-7 and a viral genome.

15. The AAV particle of claim 8 or 9 or the pharmaceutical composition of claim 10, for use in treating a neurological disease in a subject.
16. Use of the AAV particle of claim 8 or 9 or the pharmaceutical composition of claim 10, in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a neurological disease in a subject.
17. The method of claim 11 or 14, the AAV particle or the pharmaceutical composition for use of claim 12 or 15, or the use of claim 13 or 16, wherein the AAV particle or pharmaceutical composition is administered intravenously.
