An awning assembly

Abstract

Claims

1. An awning assembly comprising:a primary hinge and a subsequent hinge both able to be mounted to a vehicle, the primary hinge spaced from the subsequent hinge by a first distance;at least three primary hinge arms mounted for rotation on the primary hinge and moveable between an open position and a closed position;at least one subsequent hinge arm mounted for rotation on the subsequent hinge and moveable between an open position and a closed position,a fabric cover attached to the at least three primary hinge arms and at least one subsequent hinge arm; the fabric cover having a substantially main rectangular portion and a first additional rectangular portion when the at least three primary hinge arms and the at least one subsequent hinge arm are in an open position ;wherein the main rectangular portion of the fabric cover is connected to a first primary hinge arm of the primary hinge and a first subsequent hinge arm of the subsequent hinge; andthe first additional rectangular portion of the fabric cover is connected to the remaining primary hinge arms of the primary hinge andwherein, in the closed position, the at least three primary hinge arms, the at least one subsequent hinge arm and the fabric cover are located between the primary hinge and the subsequent hinge.

2. The awning assembly according to claim 1 where each arm is of a length that is shorter than the first distance between the hinges.

3. The awning of claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the fabric cover has a second additional rectangular portion, the second rectangular portion extending from the main rectangular portion with the first additional rectangular portion and the second rectangular portion being separated by the main rectangular portion.

The awning of any one of the preceding claims wherein the primary hinge rotatably mounts a first primary hinge arm about a first primary hinge axis and mounts a second primary hinge arm and a third primary hinge arm about a second primary hinge axis.2025252662   26 Aug 20265. The awning of claim 4 wherein the primary hinge rotatably mounts a fourth primary hinge arm about a third primary hinge axis.

6. The awning of any one of the preceding claims wherein the primary hinge has two or three primary hinge shafts.

7. The awning assembly of claim 4 wherein a first primary hinge shaft is used to rotatably mount the first primary hinge arm and a second primary hinge shaft is used to rotatably mount a second primary hinge arm and a third primary hinge arm.

8. The awning assembly of claim 6 or claim 7 wherein a third primary hinge shaft is used to rotatably mount a fourth primary hinge arm.

9. The awning assembly of any one of claims 4 to 8 wherein the third primary hinge arm is longer than the first primary hinge arm and second primary hinge arm.

10. The awning assembly of any one of claims 4 to 9 wherein the second primary hinge arm and the third primary hinge arm support the first additional rectangular portion.

11. The awning assembly of claim 5 wherein the second primary hinge arm, the third primary hinge arm and the fourth primary hinge arm support the first additional rectangular portion.

12. The awning assembly of any one of the preceding claims wherein the subsequent hinge rotatably mounts a first subsequent hinge arm about a first subsequent hinge axis.

13. The awning assembly of claim 12 wherein the subsequent hinge rotatably mounts a second subsequent hinge arm and a third subsequent hinge arm about a second subsequent hinge axis.

14. The awning assembly of any one of the preceding claims wherein the subsequent hinge rotatably mounts a fourth subsequent hinge arm about a third2025252662   26 Aug 2026subsequent hinge axis.

15. The awning of any one of the preceding claims wherein the subsequent hinge has one, two or three subsequent hinge shafts.

16. The awning assembly of claim 15 wherein a first subsequent hinge shaft is used to mount the first subsequent hinge arm.

17. The awning assembly of claim 15 or claim 16 wherein the second subsequent hinge shaft is used to mount a second subsequent hinge arm and a third subsequent hinge arm.

18. The awning assembly of any one of claims 15 to 17 wherein a third hinge shaft is used to mount a fourth subsequent hinge arm.

19. The awning assembly of any one of claim 17 wherein the second primary hinge arm and the third primary hinge arm support the first additional rectangular portion.

20. The awning assembly of claim 18 wherein the second primary hinge arm, the third primary hinge arm and the fourth primary hinge arm support the first additional rectangular portion.
