Description

TITLE OF INVENTION: METHOD FOR REMODELING BUILDING, AND BUILDING TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a method for remodeling a building, and a building. BACKGROUND

[0002] Patent Literature 1 discloses a method for remodeling a building. Before remodeling, the building includes three existing beams extending in parallel with one another and columns that respectively support the three existing beams. In the remodeling, the column supporting the center existing beam among the three existing beams is removed. Subsequently, a beam-shaped reinforcing member is arranged below the center existing beam so as to be orthogonal to the existing beams, and receiving columns that support the beam-shaped reinforcing member are arranged below opposite ends of the beam-shaped reinforcing member. CITATION LIST Patent Literature

[0003] Patent Literature 1: JP2021-116599A SUMMARY OF INVENTION Technical Problem

[0004] At the portion where the center existing beam intersects the beam-shaped reinforcing member, the deformation of the existing beam may be combined with that of the beamshaped reinforcing member. This could result in a greater amount of beam deformation than in the building prior to remodeling. Solution to Problem

[0005] (1) A method for remodeling a building according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a removing step that removes, from a building including three or more horizontal members extending parallel to one another and columns respectively supporting the three or more horizontal members, the column supporting the horizontal member that is located at a position other than two endmost ones of the three or more horizontal members, and a reinforcing step that reinforces a reinforcement-target horizontal member. The reinforcement-target horizontal member is the horizontal member from which the column has been removed. In the reinforcing step, a receiving horizontal member is arranged below the reinforcement-target horizontal member so as to intersect the horizontal member, and the receiving horizontal member is joined to the reinforcement-target horizontal member. In the reinforcing step, receiving columns are arranged below opposite ends of the receiving horizontal member, and the receiving columns are joined to the receiving horizontal member. In the reinforcing step, the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the receiving horizontal member using a high-strength bolt. In the reinforcing step, a reinforcing member is arranged at a portion of the reinforcement-target horizontal member that intersects the receiving horizontal member, and the reinforcing member is joined to the reinforcement-target horizontal member.

[0006] With this method, the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the receiving horizontal member using the high-strength bolt. Thus, the reinforcement-target horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member have an integrated structure in which they are rigidly joined to each other. This limits deformation of the reinforcementtarget horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member. In addition, the reinforcement-target horizontal member is reinforced by the reinforcing member at the portion where the reinforcement-target horizontal member intersects the receiving horizontal member. This further limits the deformation of the reinforcement-target horizontal member.

[0007] (2) In the method for remodeling the building according to (1), the reinforcementtarget horizontal member includes a horizontal member web, an upper horizontal member flange located at an upper end of the horizontal member web, and a lower horizontal member flange located at a lower end of the horizontal member web. The receiving horizontal member includes a receiving web, an upper receiving flange located at an upper end of the receiving web, and a lower receiving flange located at a lower end of the receiving web. The reinforcing member includes a reinforcement web, an upper reinforcement flange located at an upper end of the reinforcement web, and a lower reinforcement flange located at a lower end of the reinforcement web. In the reinforcing step, the reinforcing member is arranged such that the reinforcement web intersects the horizontal member web, the upper reinforcement flange extends along the upper horizontal member flange, and the lower reinforcement flange extends along the lower horizontal member flange. In the reinforcing step, the receiving horizontal member is arranged such that part of the upper receiving flange overlaps the lower horizontal member flange. In the reinforcing step, the upper horizontal member flange is joined to the upper reinforcement flange using a bolt. In the reinforcing step, the lower reinforcement flange, the lower horizontal member flange, and the upper receiving flange are joined to each other using the high-strength bolt.

[0008] For remodeling, since the reinforcing member needs to be joined to a reinforcementtarget horizontal member that has been constructed, it is desirable that the reinforcementtarget horizontal member be readily joined to the reinforcing member. With this method, the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the reinforcing member using the bolt and the high-strength bolt. Thus, as compared with when the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the reinforcing member through welding, the reinforcement-target horizontal member is readily joined to the reinforcing member.

[0009] Further, the lower reinforcement flange, the lower horizontal member flange, and the upper receiving flange are collectively joined to each other using the high-strength bolt. This allows the reinforcement-target horizontal member to be joined to the reinforcing member at the same time as when the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the receiving horizontal member.

[0010] (3) In the method for remodeling the building according to (2), the receiving horizontal member further includes a stiffener that connects the receiving web, the upper receiving flange, and the lower receiving flange to each other. In the reinforcing step, the receiving horizontal member is arranged such that the stiffener is positioned below the reinforcement-target horizontal member. With this method, the receiving horizontal member is reinforced by the stiffener at the portion where the reinforcement-target horizontal member intersects the receiving horizontal member. This further limits the deformation of the receiving horizontal member.

[0011] (4) In the method for remodeling the building according to any one of (1) to (3), a dimension of the receiving horizontal member in a vertical direction is less than or equal to a dimension of the reinforcement-target horizontal member in the vertical direction.

[0012] Since the receiving horizontal member is arranged below the reinforcement-target horizontal member, the height of the ceiling of the building after remodeling may be lower than that of the building prior to remodeling by an amount corresponding to the dimension of the receiving horizontal member in the vertical direction. Thus, it is preferable that the dimension of the receiving horizontal member in the vertical direction be relatively small.

[0013] When the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the receiving horizontal member using the bolt, a method for limiting the deformation of the reinforcement-target horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member may be performed. In this method, for example, the dimension of the receiving horizontal member in the vertical direction nay be set to be greater than or equal to the dimension of the reinforcement-target horizontal member in the vertical direction. However, in this case, the height of the ceiling tends to be lower.

[0014] When the above-described method is performed to join the reinforcement-target horizontal member to the receiving horizontal member using the high-strength bolt so as to limit the deformation of the reinforcement-target horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member, the dimension of the receiving horizontal member in the vertical direction becomes less than or equal to the dimension of the reinforcement-target horizontal member in the vertical direction. Thus, as compared with a configuration in which the deformation is limited by setting the dimension of the receiving horizontal member to be greater than or equal to the dimension of the reinforcement-target horizontal member when the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the receiving horizontal member using the bolt, a decrease in the height of the ceiling is avoided.

[0015] (5) In the method for remodeling the building according to any one of (1) to (4), in the reinforcing step, the receiving horizontal member is arranged such that the opposite ends of the receiving horizontal member are positioned below end horizontal members, and the receiving horizontal member is joined to the end horizontal members. The end horizontal members are the horizontal members located on opposite sides of the reinforcement-target horizontal member among the three or more horizontal members.

[0016] As described above, the receiving horizontal member is arranged below the reinforcement-target horizontal member so as to intersect the horizontal member, and the receiving columns are arranged below opposite ends of the receiving horizontal member. Thus, the load acting on the reinforcement-target horizontal member is transmitted to the two receiving columns via the receiving horizontal member. That is, the receiving horizontal member and the two receiving columns support the reinforcement-target horizontal member instead of the columns that have been removed in the removing step.

[0017] With this method, the opposite ends of the receiving horizontal member is arranged below the end horizontal members, the receiving columns arranged below the opposite ends of the receiving horizontal member are arranged below the end horizontal members. Further, the receiving horizontal member is joined to the end horizontal members. This allows the two receiving columns to support not only the reinforcement-target horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member but also the end horizontal members.

[0018] (6) In the method for remodeling the building according to (5), at least one of the end horizontal members is an internal horizontal member that is located inside the building. In the removing step, some of the columns that support the internal horizontal member are removed. In the reinforcing step, one of the receiving columns is arranged below the internal horizontal member such that the columns arranged below the internal horizontal member are arranged at predetermined intervals.

[0019] With this method, the internal horizontal member is supported by multiple columns arranged at predetermined intervals. As a result, even when the columns supporting the internal horizontal member are removed in the removing step, the internal horizontal member is stably supported.

[0020] (7) In the method for remodeling the building according to (5), at least one of the end horizontal members is a peripheral horizontal member that is located at a periphery of the building. In the reinforcing step, the receiving horizontal member is arranged such that an end of the receiving horizontal member is adjacent to an upper end of the column supporting the peripheral horizontal member in a direction in which the receiving horizontal member extends, one of the receiving columns is arranged along the column supporting the peripheral horizontal member, and the receiving column is joined to the column supporting the peripheral horizontal member.

[0021] With this method, the peripheral horizontal member is also supported by the receiving column in addition to an existing column. This allows the peripheral horizontal member to be supported more stably. Further, since the receiving column is joined to the existing column supporting the peripheral horizontal member, the stability of the receiving column is improved. As a result, the receiving horizontal member and the reinforcementtarget horizontal member are supported by the receiving column more stably.

[0022] (8) A building according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes three or more horizontal members including a reinforcement-target horizontal member and end horizontal members, the end horizontal members extending in parallel with the reinforcement-target horizontal member and located on opposite sides of the reinforcement-target horizontal member, a receiving horizontal member arranged below the reinforcement-target horizontal member so as to intersect the horizontal member and joined to the reinforcement-target horizontal member, and receiving columns arranged below opposite ends of the receiving horizontal member and joined to the receiving horizontal member. A column is not arranged below a portion of the reinforcement-target horizontal member that intersects the receiving horizontal member. The reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the receiving horizontal member using a high-strength bolt. The building includes a reinforcing member arranged at the portion of the reinforcement-target horizontal member that intersects the receiving horizontal member and joined to the reinforcement-target horizontal member.

[0023] With this structure, the reinforcement-target horizontal member is joined to the receiving horizontal member using the high-strength bolt. Thus, the reinforcement-target horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member have an integrated structure in which they are rigidly joined to each other. This limits deformation of the reinforcement target horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member. In addition, the reinforcement-target horizontal member is reinforced by the reinforcing member at the portion where the reinforcement-target horizontal member intersects the receiving horizontal member. This further limits the deformation of the reinforcement-target horizontal member. Advantageous Effects of Invention

[0024] The method for remodeling the building and the building according to the present disclosure limit the deformation of the reinforcement-target horizontal member and the receiving horizontal member. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0026] A remodeling method for a building 10 and the building 10 according to the present embodiment will now be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 8. The building 10 of the present embodiment is a two-story house. The method for remodeling the building 10 of the present embodiment is employed in remodeling in which the floor plan of the first floor is modified by removing some of the columns on the first floor.

[0027] <Building Prior to Remodeling> As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the building 10 prior to remodeling includes three or more horizontal members that extend parallel to one another. The building 10 prior to remodeling in the present embodiment includes four transverse beams 12 extending parallel to one another as the three or more horizontal members extending parallel to one another. In the following description, the direction in which each transverse beam 12 extends is referred to as a first direction X. The direction in which the four transverse beams 12 are arranged is referred to as a second direction Y. The first direction X is orthogonal to a vertical direction Z. The second direction Y is orthogonal to the first direction X and the vertical direction Z.

[0028] In the present embodiment, the four transverse beams 12 are arranged at equal intervals in the second direction Y. The four transverse beams 12 are arranged, for example, at intervals of 2 m in the second direction Y. A longitudinal beam 11 extending in the second direction Y is arranged between adjacent ones of the transverse beams 12 in the second direction Y. The longitudinal beams 11 are arranged, for example, at the portions of the periphery of the building 10 at the opposite ends in the first direction X.

[0029] When the four transverse beams 12 are distinguished from each other, they are referred to as a first transverse beam 12a, a second transverse beam 12b, a third transverse beam 12c, and a fourth transverse beam 12d from one side to the other side in the second direction Y. The first transverse beam 12a and the fourth transverse beam 12d are the two endmost ones of the four transverse beams 12. The second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c are transverse beams 12 located at positions other than the two endmost ones of the four transverse beams 12.

[0030] Referring to Figs. 5 and 7, each transverse beam 12 is formed of H-shaped steel. Each transverse beam 12 includes a beam web 20 as a horizontal member web, an upper beam flange 21 as an upper horizontal member flange, and a lower beam flange 22 as a lower horizontal member flange. The upper beam flange 21 is located at an upper end of the beam web 20. The lower beam flange 22 is located at a lower end of the beam web 20.

[0031] As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the building 10 prior to remodeling includes an independent column 13 that supports each transverse beam 12 inside the building 10. The building 10 prior to remodeling in the present embodiment includes a first independent column 13a that supports the first transverse beam 12a, a second independent column 13b that supports the second transverse beam 12b, and a third independent column 13c that supports the third transverse beam 12c. The first independent column 13a, the second independent column 13b, and the third independent column 13c are arranged in the second direction Y. Each independent column 13 is formed of a square steel tube.

[0032] The building 10 prior to remodeling includes peripheral columns 14 that support the transverse beams 12 at the periphery of the building 10. The building 10 prior to remodeling of the present embodiment includes first peripheral columns 41a and 41b that support the opposite ends of the first transverse beam 12a in the first direction X, second peripheral columns 42a and 42b that support the opposite ends of the second transverse beam 12b in the first direction X, and third peripheral columns 43a and 43b that support the opposite ends of the third transverse beam 12c in the first direction X. The building 10 prior to remodeling includes fourth peripheral columns 44a, 44b, 44c, 44d that support the fourth transverse beam 12d.

[0033] Each of the first peripheral columns 41a and 41b, the second peripheral columns 42a and 42b, and the third peripheral columns 43a and 43b is formed of two C-shaped steels 14a that are adjacent to each other in the second direction Y. The two C-shaped steels 14a are arranged such that one C-shaped steel 14a opens toward one side in the second direction Y, while the other C-shaped steel 14a opens toward the other side in the second direction Y.

[0034] The fourth peripheral columns 44a, 44b, 44c, and 44d are arranged at intervals in the first direction X. In the present embodiment, the fourth peripheral columns 44a, 44b, 44c, and 44d are arranged at equal intervals in the first direction X. The fourth peripheral columns 44a, 44b, 44c, and 44d are arranged at intervals of, for example, 2 m in the first direction X.

[0035] The fourth peripheral columns 44a and 44d support the opposite ends of the fourth transverse beam 12d in the first direction X. Each of the fourth peripheral columns 44a and 44d is formed of two C-shaped steels 14a and an auxiliary column 14b, each of which is located at a corner portion of the building 10.

[0036] The fourth peripheral columns 44b and 44c are located between the fourth peripheral columns 44a and 44d in the first direction X. The fourth peripheral column 44b is aligned with the first independent column 13a, the second independent column 13b, and the third independent column 13c in the second direction Y. The fourth peripheral column 44c is located between the fourth peripheral columns 44b and 44d. Each of the fourth peripheral columns 44b and 44c is formed of two C-shaped steels 14a adjacent to each other in the first direction X. The two C-shaped steels 14a are arranged such that one C-shaped steel 14a opens toward one side in the first direction X while the other C-shaped steel 14a opens toward the other side in the first direction X. Each of the fourth peripheral columns 44b and 44c is arranged below a portion of the fourth transverse beam 12d that is located on the exterior side of the beam web 20 (see Fig. 8).

[0037] Thus, in the building 10 prior to remodeling, the first transverse beam 12a is supported by the first independent column 13a and the first peripheral columns 41a and 41b. The second transverse beam 12b is supported by the second independent column 13b and the second peripheral columns 42a and 42b. The third transverse beam 12c is supported by the third independent column 13c and the third peripheral columns 43a and 43b. The fourth transverse beam 12d is supported by the fourth peripheral columns 44a, 44b, 44c, and 44d. As a result, the building 10 prior to remodeling includes columns that support each of the four transverse beams 12.

[0038] <Building After Remodeling> As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the building 10 after remodeling includes the first to fourth transverse beams 12a to 12d, the longitudinal beams 11, the first peripheral columns 41a and 41b, the second peripheral columns 42a and 42b, the third peripheral columns 43a and 43b, and the fourth peripheral columns 44a, 44b, 44c, and 44d. The first to fourth transverse beams 12a to 12d, the longitudinal beams 11, the first peripheral columns 41a and 41b, the second peripheral columns 42a and 42b, the third peripheral columns 43a and 43b, and the fourth peripheral columns 44a, 44b, 44c, and 44d are existing members that have been included in the building 10 prior to remodeling.

[0039] The building 10 after remodeling does not include the second independent column 13b and the third independent column 13c. The second independent column 13b and the third independent column 13c are members that have been removed from the building 10 by remodeling. Each of the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c is a reinforcement-target beam 121 as a reinforcement-target horizontal member from which a column has been removed. The first transverse beam 12a and the fourth transverse beam 12d are end beams 122 as end horizontal members located on opposite sides of the reinforcement-target horizontal member. Thus, the four transverse beams 12 include two reinforcement-target beams 121, and the end beams 122 located on the opposite sides of the reinforcement-target beams 121. In the present embodiment, among the two end beams 122, the first transverse beam 12a, which is one of the end beams 122, is an internal horizontal member located inside the building 10, while the fourth transverse beam 12d, which is the other end beam 122, is a peripheral horizontal member located at the periphery of the building 10. In the present embodiment, the building 10 after remodeling does not include the first independent column 13a. The first independent column 13a is a member that has been removed from the building 10 by remodeling.

[0040] <Receiving Beam> The building 10 after remodeling includes receiving beams 15 as receiving horizontal members. The receiving beams 15 are members newly arranged by remodeling. The building 10 after remodeling in the present embodiment includes two receiving beams 15. When the two receiving beams 15 are distinguished from each other, one of the receiving beams 15 is referred to as a first receiving beam 15a, and the other receiving beam 15 is referred to as a second receiving beam 15b.

[0041] The receiving beams 15 are arranged below the reinforcement-target beams 121 so as to intersect the transverse beams 12 in plan view. No column is arranged below a portion of the reinforcement-target beam 121 that intersects the receiving beam 15. The receiving beams 15 extend from one end beam 122 to the other end beam 122. Opposite ends of the receiving beams 15 are located below the end beams 122.

[0042] Specifically, each receiving beam 15 is arranged below the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c so as to intersect the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c in plan view. No column is arranged below a portion of each of the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c that intersects the receiving beam 15. Each receiving beam 15 extends from the first transverse beam 12a to the fourth transverse beam 12d. Each receiving beam 15 includes a first end 151 that is located below the first transverse beam 12a (see Fig. 7). Each receiving beam 15 includes a second end 152 that is located below the fourth transverse beam 12d (see Fig. 8).

[0043] The first receiving beam 15a is located at a position where the fourth peripheral column 44b is arranged in the first direction X. The first receiving beam 15a is located at positions where the first independent column 13a, the second independent column 13b, and the third independent column 13c have been arranged in the first direction X. The first receiving beam 15a is located below a portion of the second transverse beam 12b that has been supported by the second independent column 13b and a portion of the third transverse beam 12c that has been supported by the third independent column 13c. The first end 151 of the first receiving beam 15a is located below a portion of the first transverse beam 12a that has been supported by the first independent column 13a.

[0044] As shown in Fig. 8, the second end 152 of the first receiving beam 15a is located below a portion of the fourth transverse beam 12d that is located on the interior side of the beam web 20. The second end 152 of the first receiving beam 15a is adjacent to an upper end of the fourth peripheral column 44b in the extending direction of the receiving beam 15. The second end 152 of the first receiving beam 15a is located on the interior side of the fourth peripheral column 44b.

[0045] As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the second receiving beam 15b is arranged at a position where the fourth peripheral column 44c is arranged in the first direction X. The second receiving beam 15b is located closer to the first peripheral column 41b, the second peripheral column 42b, the third peripheral column 43b, and the fourth peripheral column 44d than the first receiving beam 15a in the first direction X. The first end 151 of the second receiving beam 15b is located below the portion of the first transverse beam 12a that is located closer to the first peripheral column 41b than the portion of the first transverse beam 12a that has been supported by the first independent column 13a.

[0046] As shown in Fig. 8, the second end 152 of the second receiving beam 15b is located below a portion of the fourth transverse beam 12d that is located on the interior side of the beam web 20. The second end 152 of the second receiving beam 15b is adjacent to an upper end of the fourth peripheral column 44c in the extending direction of the receiving beam 15. The second end 152 of the second receiving beam 15b is located on the interior side of the fourth peripheral column 44c.

[0047] As shown in Figs. 5 and 6, each receiving beam 15 is formed of H-shaped steel. Each receiving beam 15 includes a receiving web 50, an upper receiving flange 51, and a lower receiving flange 52. The upper receiving flange 51 is located at an upper end of the receiving web 50. The lower receiving flange 52 is located at a lower end of the receiving web 50. Each receiving beam 15 is arranged such that part of the upper receiving flange 51 overlaps the lower beam flange 22 of the reinforcement-target beam 121.

[0048] Each receiving beam 15 of the present embodiment further includes stiffeners 53 that connect the receiving web 50, the upper receiving flange 51, and the lower receiving flange 52 to each other. The stiffeners 53 are arranged on opposite sides of the receiving web 50. The stiffeners 53 are located below the reinforcement-target beam 121. Specifically, the stiffeners 53 are located below the beam web 20 of the reinforcement-target beam 121. In the present embodiment, the stiffeners 53 are also located below the beam web 20 of the first transverse beam 12a (see Fig. 7). In the present embodiment, the dimension of each receiving beam 15 in the vertical direction Z is smaller than the dimension of the reinforcement-target beam 121 in the vertical direction Z.

[0049] <Receiving Column> As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the building 10 after remodeling includes receiving columns 16 arranged below opposite ends of each receiving beam 15. The receiving columns 16 are members newly arranged by remodeling. The building 10 after remodeling in the present embodiment includes two receiving beams 15. Thus, the building 10 after remodeling includes four receiving columns 16.

[0050] When the four receiving columns 16 are distinguished from each other, the receiving column 16 arranged below the first end 151 of the first receiving beam 15a is referred to as a first receiving column 16a. The receiving column 16 arranged below the second end 152 of the first receiving beam 15a is referred to as a second receiving column 16b. The first receiving column 16a and the second receiving column 16b support the first receiving beam 15a. The receiving column 16 arranged below the first end 151 of the second receiving beam 15b is referred to as a third receiving column 16c. The receiving column 16 arranged below the second end 152 of the second receiving beam 15b is referred to as a fourth receiving column 16d. The third receiving column 16c and the fourth receiving column 16d support the second receiving beam 15b.

[0051] The dimension of the first receiving column 16a in the vertical direction Z is smaller than the dimension of the first independent column 13a in the vertical direction Z by an amount corresponding to the dimension of the first receiving beam 15a in the vertical direction Z. The dimension of the second receiving column 16b in the vertical direction Z is smaller than the dimension of the fourth peripheral column 44b in the vertical direction Z by an amount corresponding to the dimension of the first receiving beam 15a in the vertical direction Z. The dimension of the third receiving column 16c in the vertical direction Z is equal to the dimension of the first receiving column 16a in the vertical direction Z. The dimension of the fourth receiving column 16d in the vertical direction Z is equal to the dimension of the second receiving column 16b in the vertical direction Z.

[0052] As described above, the first end 151 of the first receiving beam 15a is arranged below the portion of the first transverse beam 12a that has been supported by the first independent column 13a. Accordingly, the first receiving column 16a, which is arranged below the first end 151 of the first receiving beam 15a, is located below the portion of the first transverse beam 12a that has been supported by the first independent column 13a. The second end 152 of the first receiving beam 15a is arranged adjacent to the upper end of the fourth peripheral column 44b in the extending direction of the receiving beam 15. Accordingly, the second receiving column 16b, which is arranged below the second end 152 of the first receiving beam 15a, is adjacent to the fourth peripheral column 44b in the extending direction of the receiving beam 15. The second receiving column 16b extends along the fourth peripheral column 44b.

[0053] The second end 152 of the second receiving beam 15a is arranged adjacent to the upper end of the fourth peripheral column 44c in the extending direction of the receiving beam 15. Accordingly, the fourth receiving column 16d, which is arranged below the second end 152 of the second receiving beam 15b, is adjacent to the fourth peripheral column 44c in the extending direction of the receiving beam 15. The fourth receiving column 16d extends along the fourth peripheral column 44c.

[0054] In the building 10 after remodeling, the first transverse beam 12a is supported by the first peripheral column 41a, the first receiving column 16a, the third receiving column 16c, and the first peripheral column 41b. The first peripheral column 41a, the first receiving column 16a, the third receiving column 16c, and the first peripheral column 41b are arranged at predetermined intervals in the first direction X. For example, the first peripheral column 41a, the first receiving column 16a, the third receiving column 16c, and the first peripheral column 41b are arranged at intervals of 2 m in the first direction X. Thus, the first transverse beam 12a is supported by multiple columns arranged at predetermined intervals.

[0055] As shown in Fig. 7, each of the first receiving column 16a and the third receiving column 16c includes a column body 60 and a connecting portion 61, which is formed integrally with an upper end of the column body 60. The column body 60 is formed of a square steel pipe.

[0056] As shown in Figs. 4 and 8, each of the second receiving column 16b and the fourth receiving column 16d is formed of two C-shaped steels 62, which are adjacent to each other in the first direction X. In Fig. 8, only one of the two C-shaped steels 62 is illustrated. The two C-shaped steels 62 are arranged such that one C-shaped steel 62 opens toward one side in the first direction X, while the other C-shaped steel 62 opens toward the other side in the first direction X.

[0057] In the present embodiment, the second receiving column 16b is joined to the fourth peripheral column 44b by a connecting plate 63. The fourth receiving column 16d is joined to the fourth peripheral column 44c by the connecting plate 63. Specifically, the connecting plate 63 is arranged between the two C-shaped steels 62 of the receiving column 16 and between the two C-shaped steels 14a of the peripheral column 14. A nut (not shown) is fastened to a bolt B1 extending through each of the two C-shaped steels 62 of the receiving column 16 and the connecting plate 63. Thus, the receiving column 16 is joined to the connecting plate 63. A nut (not shown) is fastened to a bolt B1 extending through each of the two C-shaped steels 62 of the peripheral column 14 and the connecting plate 63. Thus, the peripheral column 14 is joined to the connecting plate 63.

[0058] <Reinforcing Member> As shown in Figs. 5 and 6, reinforcing members 17 are arranged at the portion of the reinforcement-target beam 121 that intersects each receiving beam 15. Specifically, the reinforcing member 17 is arranged at a portion of the second transverse beam 12b intersecting the first receiving beam 15a, a portion of the second transverse beam 12b intersecting the second receiving beam 15b, a portion of the third transverse beam 12c intersecting the first receiving beam 15a, and a portion of the third transverse beam 12c intersecting the second receiving beam 15b. One reinforcing member 17 is arranged on each of the opposite sides of the beam web 20 at the portion of the reinforcement-target beam 121 that intersects the receiving beam 15.

[0059] As shown in Fig. 7, in the present embodiment, the reinforcing members 17 are also arranged at portions of the first transverse beam 12a that intersect the receiving beams 15. One reinforcing member 17 is arranged on each of the opposite sides of the beam web 20 at the portion of the first transverse beam 12a that intersects the receiving beam 15.

[0060] Each reinforcing member 17 includes a reinforcement web 70, an upper reinforcement flange 71, and a lower reinforcement flange 72. The upper reinforcement flange 71 is located at an upper end of the reinforcement web 70. The lower reinforcement flange 72 is located at a lower end of the reinforcement web 70. The reinforcing member 17 is arranged such that the reinforcement web 70 intersects the beam web 20, the upper reinforcement flange 71 extends along a lower surface of the upper beam flange 21, and the lower reinforcement flange 72 extends along an upper surface of the lower beam flange 22. The reinforcing member 17 is arranged such that the reinforcement web 70 is positioned above the receiving web 50 of the receiving beam 15.

[0061] As shown in Fig. 4, the building 10 after remodeling includes multiple openings A in plan view. Each opening A is defined by the longitudinal beams 11 or the receiving beams 15 adjacent to each other in the first direction X and the transverse beams 12 adjacent to each other in the second direction Y. As indicated by the double-dashed lines in Fig. 4, two braces 18 extending diagonally are arranged in each opening A so as to intersect each other.

[0062] As shown in Fig. 5, a plate-shaped brace bracket 19 is fixed to each end of the brace 18. The brace bracket 19 is arranged along the upper surface of the lower reinforcement flange 72 of the reinforcing member 17.

[0063] As shown in Figs. 5 and 6, a nut N is fastened to a bolt B1 extending through the upper reinforcement flange 71 of each reinforcing member 17 and the upper beam flange 21 of the reinforcement-target beam 121. A nut N is fastened to a high-strength bolt B2 extending through the lower reinforcement flange 72 of each reinforcing member 17, the lower beam flange 22 of the reinforcement-target beam 121, and the upper receiving flange 51 of the receiving beam 15. Thus, the reinforcing members 17 are joined to the reinforcement-target beam 121 using the bolts B1 and the high-strength bolts B2. The receiving beam 15 is joined to the reinforcement-target beam 121 using the high-strength bolts B2. If the brace bracket 19 is arranged on the upper surface of the lower reinforcement flange 72 of each reinforcing member 17, the high-strength bolt B2 also extends through the brace bracket 19. Thus, the brace 18 is joined to the reinforcement-target beam 121.

[0064] As shown in Fig. 7, a nut N is fastened to a bolt B1 extending through the upper reinforcement flange 71 of each reinforcing member 17 and the upper beam flange 21 of the first transverse beam 12a. A nut N is fastened to a high-strength bolt B2 extending through the lower reinforcement flange 72 of each reinforcing member 17, the lower beam flange 22 of the first transverse beam 12a, and the upper receiving flange 51 of the receiving beam 15. Thus, the reinforcing members 17 are joined to the first transverse beam 12a using the bolts B1 and the high-strength bolts B2. The first end 151 of the receiving beam 15 is joined to the first transverse beam 12a using the high-strength bolts B2. If the brace bracket 19 is arranged on the upper surface of the lower reinforcement flange 72 of each reinforcing member 17, the high-strength bolt B2 also extends through the brace bracket 19. Thus, the brace 18 is joined to the first transverse beam 12a.

[0065] A nut N is fastened to a bolt B1 extending through the connecting portion 61 of the receiving column 16 and the lower receiving flange 52 of the receiving beam 15. Accordingly, the receiving column 16 is joined to the first end 151 of the receiving beam 15.

[0066] As shown in Fig. 8, a nut N is fastened to a bolt B1 extending through the lower beam flange 22 of the fourth transverse beam 12d and the upper receiving flange 51 of the receiving beam 15. Accordingly, the second end 152 of the receiving beam 15 is joined to the fourth transverse beam 12d using the bolts B1.

[0067] A nut N is fastened to a bolt B1 extending through the receiving column 16 and the lower receiving flange 52 of the receiving beam 15. Accordingly, the receiving column 16 is joined to the second end 152 of the receiving beam 15. <Method for Remodeling Building> The method for remodeling the building 10 will now be described. The building 10 is remodeled by a worker. The method for remodeling the building 10 includes a removing step and a reinforcing step.

[0068] In the removing step, a column supporting a horizontal member located at a position other than the two endmost ones of three or more horizontal members extending in parallel to one another is removed from the building 10 prior to remodeling. As described above, in the present embodiment, the transverse beams 12 located at positions other than the two endmost ones of four transverse beams 12 extending in parallel to one another are the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c. In the removing step of the present embodiment, the second independent column 13b, which supports the second transverse beam 12b, and the third independent column 13c, which supports the third transverse beam 12c, are removed.

[0069] As a result, each of the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c is used as the reinforcement-target beam 121, from which a column has been removed. Further, the first transverse beam 12a and the fourth transverse beam 12d are used as the end beams 122, which are located on the opposite sides of the reinforcement-target beams 121. The first transverse beam 12a is an internal horizontal member located inside the building 10. The fourth transverse beam 12d is a peripheral horizontal member located on the periphery of the building 10.

[0070] Further, in the removing step of the present embodiment, some of the columns supporting the internal horizontal member are removed. Specifically, among the first peripheral column 41a, the first independent column 13a, and the first peripheral column 41b, which support the first transverse beam 12a, the first independent column 13a is removed.

[0071] In the reinforcing step, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are reinforced. In the reinforcing step, the receiving beams 15 are arranged below reinforcementtarget beams 121 so as to intersect the transverse beams 12. In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the first receiving beam 15a and the second receiving beam 15b are arranged below the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c so as to be orthogonal to the transverse beams 12. In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the receiving beams 15 are arranged such that the stiffeners 53 of the receiving beams 15 are positioned below the second transverse beam 12b and the third transverse beam 12c.

[0072] In the reinforcing step, each receiving beam 15 is arranged such that its opposite ends are positioned below the end beams 122. That is, each receiving beam 15 is arranged such that its opposite ends are positioned below the first transverse beam 12a and the fourth transverse beam 12d. In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the first receiving beam 15a is arranged such that its second end 152 is adjacent to the upper end of the fourth peripheral column 44b in the extending direction of the receiving beams 15. The second receiving beam 15b is arranged such that its second end 152 is adjacent to the fourth peripheral column 44c in the extending direction of the receiving beams 15.

[0073] In the reinforcing step, the receiving columns 16 are arranged below the opposite ends of the receiving beams 15. Specifically, in the reinforcing step, the first receiving column 16a and the second receiving column 16b are arranged below the opposite ends of the first receiving beam 15a. The third receiving column 16c and the fourth receiving column 16d are arranged below the opposite ends of the second receiving beam 15b. In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the receiving beam 15 is arranged such that part of the upper receiving flange 51 of the receiving beam 15 overlaps the lower beam flange 22 of the reinforcement-target beam 121.

[0074] In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the receiving columns 16 are arranged below the first transverse beam 12a such that multiple columns arranged below the first transverse beam 12a, which is the internal horizontal member, are arranged at predetermined intervals. Specifically, the first receiving column 16a and the third receiving column 16c are arranged such that the first peripheral column 41a, the first receiving column 16a, the third receiving column 16c, and the first peripheral column 41b are arranged below the first transverse beam 12a at predetermined intervals.

[0075] In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the receiving columns 16 are arranged along the peripheral columns 14 supporting the fourth transverse beam 12d, which is the peripheral horizontal member. Specifically, the second receiving column 16b is arranged along the fourth peripheral column 44b. The fourth receiving column 16d is arranged along the fourth peripheral column 44c.

[0076] In the reinforcing step, the reinforcing members 17 are arranged at the portions of the reinforcement-target beam 121 that intersect the receiving beams 15. Specifically, the reinforcing members 17 are arranged at the portion of the second transverse beam 12b intersecting the first receiving beam 15a, the portion of the second transverse beam 12b intersecting the second receiving beam 15b, the portion of the third transverse beam 12c intersecting the first receiving beam 15a, and the portion of the third transverse beam 12c intersecting the second receiving beam 15b.

[0077] In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the reinforcing member 17 is arranged such that the reinforcement web 70 intersects the beam web 20, the upper reinforcement flange 71 extends along the upper beam flange 21, and the lower reinforcement flange 72 extends along the lower beam flange 22. Further, the reinforcing member 17 is arranged such that the reinforcement web 70 is positioned on the receiving web 50 of the receiving beam 15.

[0078] In the reinforcing step, the reinforcing member 17 is joined to the reinforcementtarget beam 121, and the receiving beam 15 is joined to the reinforcement-target beam 121 using the high-strength bolt B2. In the present embodiment, the nut N is fastened to the bolt B1 extending through the upper beam flange 21 of the reinforcement-target beam 121 and the upper reinforcement flange 71 of the reinforcing member 17. Further, the nut N is fastened to the high-strength bolt B2 extending through the lower reinforcement flange 72 of the reinforcing member 17, the lower beam flange 22 of the reinforcement-target beam 121, and the upper receiving flange 51 of the receiving beam 15. As a result, the reinforcing member 17 is joined to the reinforcement-target beam 121 using the bolt B1 and the high-strength bolt B2, and the receiving beam 15 is joined to the reinforcement-target beam 121 using the high-strength bolt B2.

[0079] In the reinforcing step, the receiving beams 15 are joined to the end beams 122. Specifically, the first end 151 of each receiving beam 15 is joined to the first transverse beam 12a using the high-strength bolt B2, and the second end 152 of each receiving beam 15 is joined to the fourth transverse beam 12d using the bolt B1.

[0080] In the reinforcing step, two receiving columns 16 are joined to the receiving beam 15. Specifically, the first receiving column 16a and the second receiving column 16b are joined to the first receiving beam 15a using the bolt B1. The third receiving column 16c and the fourth receiving column 16d are joined to the second receiving beam 15b using the bolt B1. Further, in the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the second receiving column 16b is joined to the fourth peripheral column 44b by the connecting plate 63. The fourth receiving column 16d is joined to the fourth peripheral column 44c by the connecting plate 63.

[0081] [Operation of Present Embodiment] The operation of the present embodiment will now be described. Before remodeling, the building 10 includes four transverse beams 12 extending in parallel with one another, and columns that respectively support the four transverse beams 12. The method for remodeling the building 10 includes the removing step. In this step, the columns that support the transverse beams 12 located at the positions other than the two endmost ones of the four transverse beams 12 are removed from the building 10 prior to remodeling. The transverse beams 12 from which the columns have been removed in the removing step are the reinforcement-target beams 121.

[0082] The method for remodeling the building 10 includes the reinforcing step, in which the reinforcement-target beams 121 are reinforced. In the reinforcing step, the receiving beams 15 are arranged below the reinforcement-target beams 121 so as to intersect the transverse beams 12, and the receiving beams 15 are joined to the reinforcement-target beams 121. Further, in the reinforcing step, the receiving columns 16 are arranged below the opposite ends of each receiving beam 15, and the receiving columns 16 are joined to the receiving beam 15. Thus, the load acting on the reinforcement-target beam 121 is transmitted to the two receiving columns 16 via the receiving beam 15. That is, the receiving beam 15 and the two receiving columns 16 support the reinforcement-target beam 121 instead of the columns that have been removed in the removing step.

[0083] In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the high-strength bolts B2. As a result, the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15 have an integrated structure in which they are rigidly joined to each other. This limits deformation of the reinforcementtarget beams 121 and the receiving beams 15.

[0084] Further, in the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the reinforcing members 17 are arranged at the portions of the reinforcement-target beams 121 that intersect the receiving beams 15, and the reinforcing members 17 are joined to the reinforcement-target beams 121. As a result, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are reinforced by the reinforcing members 17 at the portions where the reinforcement-target beams 121 intersect the receiving beams 15. This further limits the deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121.

[0085] [Advantages of Present Embodiment] The advantages of the present embodiment will now be described. (1) The method for remodeling the building 10 includes the removing step and the reinforcing step. In the removing step, the columns supporting the transverse beams 12 located at the positions other than the endmost ones of the four transverse beams 12 are removed from the building 10, which includes the four transverse beams 12 extending parallel to one another and the columns respectively supporting the four transverse beams 12. In the reinforcing step, the reinforcement-target beams 121, which are the transverse beams 12 from which the columns have been removed, are reinforced.

[0086] In the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the high-strength bolts B2. Further, in the reinforcing step of the present embodiment, the reinforcing members 17 are arranged at the portions of the reinforcement-target beams 121 that intersect the receiving beams 15, and the reinforcing members 17 are joined to the reinforcement-target beams 121.

[0087] With this method, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the high-strength bolts B2. Thus, the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15 have an integrated structure in which they are rigidly joined to each other. This limits deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15. As a result, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are reinforced by the reinforcing members 17 at the portions where the reinforcement-target beams 121 intersect the receiving beams 15. This further limits the deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121.

[0088] (2) Each reinforcement-target beam 121 includes the beam web 20, the upper beam flange 21 located at the upper end of the beam web 20, and the lower beam flange 22 located at the lower end of the beam web 20. Each receiving beam 15 includes the receiving web 50, the upper receiving flange 51 located at the upper end of the receiving web 50, and the lower receiving flange 52 located at the lower end of the receiving web 50. Each reinforcing member 17 includes the reinforcement web 70, the upper reinforcement flange 71 located at the upper end of the reinforcement web 70, and the lower reinforcement flange 72 located at the lower end of the reinforcement web 70.

[0089] In the reinforcing step, the reinforcing members 17 are arranged such that the reinforcement webs 70 intersect the beam web 20, the upper reinforcement flanges 71 extend along the upper beam flange 21, and the lower reinforcement flanges 72 extend along the lower beam flange 22. In addition, each receiving beam 15 is arranged such that part of the upper receiving flange 51 overlaps the lower beam flange 22. Further, the upper beam flange 21 is joined to the upper reinforcement flanges 71 using the bolts B1, and the lower reinforcement flanges 72, the lower beam flange 22, and the upper receiving flange 51 are joined to each other using the high-strength bolts B2.

[0090] For remodeling, since the reinforcing members 17 need to be joined to the reinforcement-target beams 121 that have been constructed, it is desirable that the reinforcement-target beams 121 be readily joined to the reinforcing members 17. With the above-described method, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the reinforcing members 17 using the bolts B1 and the high-strength bolts B2. Thus, as compared with when the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the reinforcing members 17 by welding, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are readily joined to the reinforcing members 17.

[0091] Further, the lower reinforcement flanges 72, the lower beam flange 22, and the upper receiving flange 51 are collectively joined to each other using the high-strength bolts B2. This allows the reinforcement-target beams 121 to be joined to the reinforcing members 17 at the same time as when the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15.

[0092] (3) Each receiving beam 15 includes the stiffeners 53, which connect the receiving web 50, the upper receiving flange 51, and the lower receiving flange 52 to each other. In the reinforcing step, each receiving beam 15 is arranged such that the stiffeners 53 are positioned below the reinforcement-target beams 121.

[0093] With this method, each receiving beam 15 is reinforced by the stiffeners 53 at the portion where the reinforcement-target beam 121 intersects the receiving beam 15. This further limits the deformation of the receiving beam 15. (4) The dimension of the receiving beam 15 in the vertical direction Z is less than or equal to the dimension of the transverse beam 12 in the vertical direction Z.

[0094] Since the receiving beam 15 is arranged below the reinforcement-target beam 121, the height of the ceiling of the building 10 after remodeling may be lower than that of the building 10 prior to remodeling by an amount corresponding to the dimension of the receiving beam 15 in the vertical direction Z. Thus, it is preferable that the dimension of the receiving beam 15 in the vertical direction Z be relatively small.

[0095] To join the reinforcement-target beams 121 to the receiving beams 15 using the bolts B1, a method for limiting the deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15 may be performed, for example, so that the dimensions of the receiving beams 15 in the vertical direction Z become greater than or equal to the dimensions of the reinforcement-target beams 121 in the vertical direction Z. However, in this case, the height of the ceiling tends to be lower.

[0096] In the present embodiment, the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the high-strength bolts B2 to limit the deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15. This allows the dimensions of the receiving beams 15 in the vertical direction Z to be less than or equal to the dimensions of the reinforcement-target beams 121 in the vertical direction Z. Thus, as compared with a configuration in which the deformation is limited by setting the dimensions of the receiving beams 15 to be greater than or equal to the dimensions of the reinforcement-target beams 121 when the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the bolts B1, a decrease in the height of the ceiling is avoided.

[0097] (5) In the reinforcing step, among the four transverse beams 12, the receiving beams 15 are arranged such that the opposite ends of the receiving beams 15 are positioned below the end beams 122, which are located at the opposite ends of the reinforcement-target beams 121, and the receiving beams 15 are joined to the end beams 122.

[0098] With this method, the opposite ends of the receiving beams 15 are arranged below the end beams 122, the receiving columns 16 arranged below the opposite ends of the receiving beams 15 are arranged below the end beams 122. Further, the receiving beams 15 are joined to the end beams 122. This allows the two receiving columns 16 to support not only the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15 but also the end beams 122.

[0099] (6) The first transverse beam 12a, which is the end beam 122, is the internal horizontal member located inside the building 10. In the removing step, among the first peripheral column 41a, the first independent column 13a, and the first peripheral column 41b, which support the first transverse beam 12a, the first independent column 13a is removed. In the reinforcing step, the first receiving column 16a and the third receiving column 16c are arranged below the first transverse beam 12a such that the first peripheral column 41a, the first receiving column 16a, the third receiving column 16c, and the first peripheral column 41b, which are arranged below the first transverse beam 12a, are arranged at predetermined intervals.

[0100] With this method, the first transverse beam 12a is supported by multiple columns arranged at predetermined intervals. As a result, even when the first independent column 13a is removed in the removing step, the first transverse beam 12a is stably supported.

[0101] (7) The fourth transverse beam 12d, which is the end beam 122, is the peripheral horizontal member located on the periphery of the building 10. In the reinforcing step, the receiving beams 15 are arranged such that the second ends 152 of the receiving beams 15 are adjacent to the upper ends of the peripheral columns 14, which support the fourth transverse beam 12d, in the extending direction of the receiving beams 15. Further, the receiving columns 16 are arranged along the peripheral columns 14, which support the fourth transverse beam 12d. Then, the receiving columns 16 are joined to the peripheral columns 14, which support the fourth transverse beam 12d.

[0102] With this method, the fourth transverse beam 12d is also supported by the receiving columns 16 in addition to the peripheral columns 14, which are existing columns. This allows the fourth transverse beam 12d to be supported more stably. Further, since the receiving columns 16 are joined to the peripheral columns 14, the stability of the receiving columns 16 is improved. As a result, the receiving beams 15 and the reinforcement-target beams 121 are supported by the receiving columns 16 more stably.

[0103] (8) With the method for remodeling the building 10 of the present embodiment, the deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15 is limited to the same degree as in a lattice beam structure, in which orthogonal transverse beams orthogonal to the transverse beams 12 are arranged on the same plane as the transverse beams 12 and the orthogonal transverse beams and the transverse beams 12 are rigidly joined to each other by welding.

[0104] (9) In order to secure the strength of the building 10 after remodeling to the same degree as in the present embodiment, instead of the above-described reinforcing step, transverse beams 12 having a larger cross-sectional area than the transverse beams 12 of the building 10 prior to remodeling may be arranged such that the interval between the transverse beams 12 becomes smaller than the interval between the transverse beams 12 in the building 10 prior to remodeling. However, in this case, new transverse beams 12 need to be arranged after removing the transverse beams 12 from the building 10 prior to remodeling. Thus, even if the remodeling involves modifying the floor plan of the first floor, it will also affect the floor of the second floor, resulting in extensive construction work. The present embodiment allows remodeling to be performed while leaving the transverse beams 12 in the building 10 prior to remodeling, thereby avoiding extensive construction work.

[0105] (10) When the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the bolts B1, the amount of deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15 tends to increase. Accordingly, if the second independent column 13b and the third independent column 13c are both removed as in the present embodiment, it may be difficult to secure the strength of the building 10. With the method for remodeling the building 10 according to the present embodiment, as compared with when the reinforcement-target beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the bolts B1, the amount of deformation of the reinforcement-target beams 121 and the receiving beams 15 is reduced. Thus, even if the second independent column 13b and the third independent column 13c are both removed, the strength of the building 10 is secured. Consequently, the method for remodeling the building 10 according to the present embodiment allows the floor plan to be changed so as to provide a larger space than the configuration in which the reinforcementtarget beams 121 are joined to the receiving beams 15 using the bolts B1.

[0106] <Modifications> The above-described embodiment exemplifies, without any intention to limit, an applicable form of the method for remodeling the building 10 and of the building 10. The method for remodeling the building 10 and for the building 10 can take forms different from those illustrated in the above-described embodiment. For example, the structures of the above-described embodiment may be replaced, changed, or omitted in part or include additional elements. Modifications to the embodiment will now be described.

[0107] - The building 10 is not limited to a two-story house. - The horizontal members extending parallel to one another are not limited to the transverse beams 12. The building 10 may include three or more longitudinal beams extending parallel to one another.

[0108] - The number of horizontal members extending parallel to one another is not limited to four, and may be changed as long as it is three or more. - The number of reinforcement-target horizontal members is not limited to two, and may be changed.

[0109] - The number of receiving horizontal members is not limited to two, and may be changed. - The receiving horizontal members do not have to be orthogonal to the reinforcement-target horizontal members as long as the receiving horizontal members intersect the reinforcement-target horizontal members.

[0110] - The column to be removed in the removing step is not limited to the independent column 13, and may be the peripheral column 14. - The first receiving beam 15a does not have to be arranged below the portion of the first transverse beam 12a that has been supported by the first independent columns 13a. In this case, the first independent column 13a does not have to be removed in the removing step.

[0111] - The lower reinforcement flange 72 of the reinforcing member 17 may be joined to the lower horizontal member flange of the reinforcement-target horizontal member using the bolt B1 or using a high-strength bolt B2 that is different from the high-strength bolt B2 used to join the lower horizontal member flange of the reinforcement-target horizontal member to the upper receiving flange 51 of the receiving horizontal member.

[0112] - The receiving horizontal member does not have to include the stiffeners 53. Even in this case, at least advantage (1) of the above-described embodiment is obtained. - The dimension of the receiving horizontal member in the vertical direction Z may be equal to the dimension of the reinforcement-target horizontal member in the vertical direction Z. Even in this case, advantage (4) of the above-described embodiment is obtained.

[0113] - The dimension of the receiving horizontal member in the vertical direction Z may be larger than the dimension of the reinforcement-target horizontal member in the vertical direction Z. Even in this case, at least advantage (1) of the above-described embodiment is obtained. - In the above-described embodiment, one of the two end horizontal members is the inner horizontal member, and the other is the peripheral horizontal member, but the present invention is not limited thereto. The two end horizontal members may both be the internal horizontal members or the peripheral horizontal members.

[0114] - Each receiving column 16 may be located at an outside corner, as viewed from the exterior side, in the building 10 prior to remodeling. In this case, in the removing step, the peripheral column 14 arranged at the outside corner in the building 10 prior to remodeling may be removed or may not be removed. If the peripheral column 14 arranged at the outside corner in the building 10 prior to remodeling is not removed, the receiving column 16 is preferably arranged along and joined to the peripheral column 14.

[0115] - In the building 10 after remodeling, when an auxiliary column is arranged at an inside corner as viewed from the exterior side, the receiving column 16 may be arranged along the auxiliary column. In this case, the end of the receiving beam 15 and the receiving column 16 do not have to be located below the end beam 122. The end of the receiving beam 15 and the receiving column 16 may be located below the longitudinal beam 11.

[0116] - The braces 18 may be omitted. <Clauses> This specification discloses the following techniques.
